Introduction: Cancers of the urinary bladder affect more than half a million people around the world every year. The Paris System for Reporting Urinary Cytology published in 2016 provides an objectively structured non-invasive screening tool to diagnose and screen patients of urinary bladder tumours. (1) In this prospective study we assessed the diagnostic parameters for The Paris System to detect urothelial tumours in samples from the urinary tract. We also compared these parameters for the different types of samples from the urinary tract, i. e , urine and urinary bladder wash. The cytological findings of the urinary samples were compared with final biopsies which are the gold standard to diagnose the bladder tumours. The present study is an observational prospective study conducted at Department of Pathology in All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Jodhpur. The study was
conducted from January 2020 to November 2021. A total of 59 patients meeting the inclusion and exclusion
criteria were included in the study of which 48 had histopathologically confirmed tumour in the urinary bladder.
