Prevalence of Hr-Hpv Infection in Women With Normal Cytology

Introduction:
The worldwide incidence of HPV infection is about 12% in women with no changes in the cervical epithelium, so 12% of women with normal cytology have HPV infection at some time during their lifetime. The aim of this study is determined prevalence of HR-HPV infection in women with normal cytology in Moscow, for define the strategic screening objective.

Methods:
The biomaterial from the cervical canal was prepared by BD SurePath method. The liquid-based cytology preparations were prepared for by an automated SurePath BD. The HPV testing of 14 genotypes 16/18/31/33/35/39/45/51/52/56/58/59/66/68 in samples was done by Cobas 4800 HPV test (Roche Diagnostics).

Results:
HR-HPV-positive test were 18.24% (158/866) among women with normal cytology aged 20-69 years. The distribution of HPV infection in women without changes in the cervical epithelium is shown in Table 1.

Conclusions:
We determined the prevalence of HPV infection in women with normal cervical cytology in different age groups and noted the importance of testing for women after 45 years in the studied population.
