Leadership strategies for improving healthcare professionals working conditions

Abstract:

In Rome employees in public hospitals are subjected to a lot of low morale, psychological stress and burnout. Even in private clinics sometimes they complain about inadequate resources, lack of support, poor interpersonal rela- tionships and unsafe environment. The purpose of this study is to propose leadership strategies for improving working condi- tions of healthcare professionals in Rome. Research design and methods: A mixed method approach was used for this study. In phase 1, twenty participants were selected for individual interviews used to obtain information regarding the statuses of working conditions in Rome. The sample com- prised senior managers, operational managers and staff coordi- nators. In phase 2, a self-administered questionnaire was used to obtain data from physicians, nurses, physiotherapists and other health care providers (a total of 120 employees).

Biography:

Giulia Buglioni, after a Master degree in Interna- tional communication and cooperation in 2013, has completed her Bachelor degree in Physiotherapy in 2019 followed by First Level Master in Health Communication in 2022. She is a senior physical therapist at the Vaclav Vojta Rehabilitation Center with a proven track record of leading healthcare teams, mentoring ju- nior staff, and creating educational programs that enhance clini- cal skills and patient care.
