Abstract:

This research involves a qualitative analysis of various government programs focused on patient
well-being in all areas and their impact. Well-being, or wellness, is a comprehensive concept that
encompasses various aspects of physical, mental, and emotional health. In Mexico, there is a growing
interest in this approach, reflected in an increase in physical activities and the adoption of healthier
eating habits. However, the biopsychosocial approach to patients in both public and private hospitals
remains a challenge. Due to a lack of understanding of various specialties, patients do not have
adequate information on how and with whom to seek care to prevent complications.
According to data from the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI), nearly 72% of the
Mexican adult population does not engage in sufficient physical activity, emphasizing the need to
promote more active lifestyles. Additionally, there is increased awareness of the importance of
emotional well-being, especially after the emotional challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Government programs, as well as private and community initiatives, are emerging to promote
comprehensive well-being in Mexico, aiming to improve the quality of life through holistic
approaches that include physical, mental, and emotional aspects.

Conclusions:

Despite government projects and programs, there is still an increase in chronic-degenerative diseases.
Creating synergy between public and private institutions is one of the country’s greatest challenges.
Educating the new generations of professionals for comprehensive patient care and providing proper
follow-up is key to changing paradigms and the infrastructure of our clinics and hospitals.

history, and be referred to the right specialist. I also work as a registered nurse at Centro Médico
Zambrano Hellion, where I have participated in multiple research and education projects in
ophthalmology. I am passionate about improving the quality of life for my patients by understanding
the reasons behind diseases and providing proper follow-up. Close patient support is the key.
