Value-Based Healthcare – Can We Afford A Cure ?

Abstract:

Introduction: With rising healthcare costs and post-pandemic global shrinking economies, the value of healthcare delivery and accountability to delivering patient outcomes has never been more critical. With increasingly innovative medicines in cancer, rare disease and curative gene therapies, multi-million dollar drugs are beginning to test sustainability of healthcare systems and government payers. With patient demands for new medicines ever increasing, this presentation evaluates value based healthcare, innova-tive contracts and reimbursement of drugs based on their outcomes, In essence, if the medicines doesn’t work; then we wont pay for it! We will cover exemplar cases, global trends and critically how to overcome barriers to successful deploy-ment of these contracts between pharmaceutical companies and government & commercial payers around the globe.

Biography:

Omar Ali has undertaken his PhD from University of Ports-mouth in the UK. He has over 25 years of hospital speciality pharmacy & management experience and also served as a government adviser on NICE HTA for 10 years. His PHD covers value based healthcare and innovative contracting with new medicines and health technologies. He has pub-lished more than 20 papers in different journals and is a sea-soned presenter around the globe.
