Introduction:
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is an etiologically, physio-pathologically and clinically heterogeneous neurodegenerative, multisystem disorder affecting both motor and extra-motor systems [1].
Thus, it is commonly considered as a motor disease and it can be difficult to recognize it, especially in the early stages. However, non-motor symptoms have been reported, recently, in cases with ALS, such as cognitive, language and social cognition dysfunctions, and behaviour deficits. Indeed, it was stated that nearly half of patients with ALS may present cognitive disorders These patients’ cognitive profile is characterized by deficits in executive function (especially in fluency), language, social cognition, and verbal memory [2].
However, we have no information about the narrative in these patients. Consequently, the purpose of this research is the description of the narrative’s patient with ALS.
To realize that, we used different tools such as unusual stories we developed and revised in 2017 with proposing a model which allowing interpretation and understanding of observed disorders for language [3],
le test des barrages, for visual selective attention, and Rey picture for visual memory.
Results showed language disorders as the word missing, lexical and semantic access deficits, syntactic deficits, speech fluency and understanding disorders, planification troubles; social cognition and short-term visual memory deficits.
